School Projects
Big Boy Train
Using a real-life event, the visit of a historic train in the State of Iowa, I created a fictitious advertisement that tied 2 random words drawn from a hat: “Abandoned” and “Train” into a single concept. My intent was to emphasize the most exciting part of this event, the arrival of the train, using color and angles. The subtle use of smoke in the background recalls the sights and smells that accompany a large steam engine.
Process Work
Concept sketches demonstrate my progression from the perspective images of railroad tracks to the use of angles. I also explored textures, including real rust to create train outlines.
City Branding
A rebranding project of my hometown, De Soto, Iowa. I created multiple logos for real townspeople to decide on the one that best represents them. I then designed a visual language which I used to promote a fake adoption event in De Soto.
Information Design
I created a series of print pieces describing the four major eras of ballet and showcased illustrations of major dancers throughout history.
